In today’s tougher and leaner organizations, gaining a broad understanding of
leadership, business acumen, organizational dynamics and interdependencies
is essential for success. The Business Planning and Execution Simulation
Workshop can help bridge these crucial essentials of running an
organization. The program combines a computer simulation of a NASA-like
business firm with learning materials on strategy, planning and
execution, portfolio management and financial management. This
simulation has been designed to enhance the applicability of the
simulation to real NASA work and decisions, the simulated business
has been structured with close similarities to NASA’s working environment
and complements NASA’s business-oriented leadership development
programs (e.g. Business Education Program (BEP), Finance for Non-Financial
Managers (FNFM), and Strategic Business Management (SBM).
The program is designed to develop a broad understanding
of strategy, organizational effectiveness, teams, and bottom-line
results. This workshop focuses on strategic execution – the processes,
decisions, team work, resource allocation, information, leadership
and actions needed to make strategy work in a program management
environment.
